Punky Meadows is one of the most popular and richest Musician who was born on February 6, 1950 in Washington, D.C., United States. The Cherry People were formed in Southeast Washington, D.C., during 1964’s British Invasion. They changed their name from Intruders, English Setters, to Cherry People. The band was formed by Chris Grimes, Doug Grimes and Punky Meadows. There were many personnel changes between 1972 and the band’s dissolution in June 1975. The Cherry People’s roots can be traced back to Southeast Washington D.C.’s Barnaby Terrace neighborhood, where the original members Chris Grimes and Doug Grimes, Punky and Larry Gray were exposed to the Beatles and early waves of the British Invasion. The Intruders was their first band formed by these four young men in 1964.

Punky Meadows Debut solo album ” Fallen Angel” was released on May 20, 2016 on Mainman Records. The album was written and produced by Punky Meadows and best friend Danny “Farrow” Anniello.
Angel released three studio albums between 1975 and 1979, as well as the live album Live Without a Net, in 1980. The band disbanded shortly thereafter, despite not achieving widespread critical and popular success. Meadows was, however, invited to join Kiss Aerosmith and the New York Dolls during his tenure. He declined all three invitations.

Punky Meadows, born Edwin Lionel Meadows, Jr., on February 6, 1950, is an American guitarist best known for his glam image in Angel.
He later formed the English Setters, which was a Beatles-sounding group that played for Neil Diamond and the Yardbirds while still in high school. The English Setters changed their sound in 1967 and called themselves the Cherry People. Heritage Records signed them to a recording deal. Meadows claims that Heritage Records promoted them as “poor man’s Monkees”. They briefly toured in 1968, appearing on American Bandstand and Caesars Palace.
In 2015 Punky Meadows made an announcement that he will be coming out of retirement and will be releasing a new solo album on Mainman records. He has written many songs with Danny Anniello aka “The Farrow” and will have a 2016 release of FALLEN ANGEL with shows to follow.
