Scott Allen is one of the most popular and richest Ice Hockey Player who was born on April 6, 1966 in New Bedford, United States. Scott Allen (born April 6 1966, in New Bedford, Massachusetts) is a former professional ice hockey player and former assistant coach for the New York Islanders and Arizona Coyotes of the National Hockey League. Scott Allen is currently an assistant coach for the Hershey Bears in the American Hockey League (AHL).
On the 20th of July in 2009 Allen became an assistant coach for the head coach Scott Gordon of the New York Islanders. Gordon as well as Allen was a player for the ECHL as a player with the Johnstown Chiefs. The 16th of April, 2012 Allen was fired from his assistant coach position at the New York Islanders.
Allen was hired by with the Johnstown Chiefs as an assistant to head coach Nick Fotiu prior to the 1996-97 ECHL season. The team was 24-39-0-7-7 during Allen’s first season in the role of assistant coach. Fotiu along with Allen were back on the Chiefs bench during the 1997-98 season. The Chiefs began the season with by going 4-20-6 (.233) and Fotiu was dismissed from the team after just 30 games. Allen took over as director of the team for rest of the season. the team made improvements through a 17-21-2 (.450) in the final 40 games. The Chiefs had a record of 27-34-0-9 in 1998-1999 equaling the previous season’s winning percent of .450. The 1999-00 season marked the first of a three-year streak in which the Chiefs advanced to playoffs. The Chiefs reached the semi-finals of the conference in 2002 and 2000 as well as their way to the ECHL Conference quarterfinals for 2001. Allen quit the ECHL to accept an assistant coach’s job at the league’s San Antonio Rampage. Allen later accepted assistant coach posts at the cities of Omaha, Lowell and Quad City after quitting the Rampage.

Allen began his profession as a player for The Troy Sabres of the All-American Hockey League in the year 1986. Allen was traded with the Carolina Thunderbirds during the 1986-87 season. Allen was with Carolina Thunderbirds for four years as they transitioned away from AAHL into the ECHL and changed their name from Carolina Thunderbirds to the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds. In the 1989-90 ECHL campaign, Allen played slightly under fourteen minutes in goal with the Carolina Thunderbirds, giving up three goals in 10 shots. The GAA was 13.26 With a save rate of .700.
Allen was transferred with the Erie Panthers at the beginning of 1989-90’s season. He ended the season as a part of the Greensboro Monarchs. Allen was awarded successive Riley Cups as a member of the Thunderbirds in 1989, and later in the Monarchs in 1990. Allen was a part of six games with the Cincinnati Cyclones during the 1990-91 season, before joining the Colonial Hockey League in 1991-92. Allen would quit hockey in the year 1996.
In the 2013–14 season, he was an assistant coach for the AHL Chicago Wolves. He returned as an assistant coach to the AHL’s San Antonio Rampage for the 2014–15 season. Following the Florida Panthers affiliate switch to the Portland Pirates, Allen began the season in an assistant role for 2015–16. On January 1, 2016, Allen was announced as the Pirates Head Coach mid-season, as Tom Rowe accepted a promotion within the Panthers organization. On June 7, 2016, Allen was named Assistant Coach of the Florida Panthers in the NHL. On July 26, 2017, Allen was named Assistant Coach with the Arizona Coyotes in the NHL. After leading the Coyotes to the best penalty killing percentage (tie) and the 5th lowest goals against average in the entire NHL (tie), Allen was fired by the Coyotes after the 2018-2019 season and hired as an assistant coach for the Hershey Bears of the AHL in August 2019.
